The resident pastor of Faith Cathedral Makurdi, Reverend (Barr.) Ken Ula reveals that the act of Thanksgiving is key for success and unlocking God's blessings.
Rev. Ula made the disclosure in a sermon on Sunday, 14th August, 2022.
Preaching on the theme, "The Thanksgiving Formula", Rev. Ula said that the surest way of getting answers in any situation is thanksgiving unto God.
Citing the scriptures according to Philippians 4 verses 6, the cleric said that going to God in prayer and supplication was good, but just not enough because thanksgiving is the last potent tool for breakthrough in all situations as was admonished by Apostle Paul to the Philippians.
Rev. Ula remarked that many times Christians pray and supplicate leaving out the Thanksgiving aspect which Apostle Paul used so much in his ministry, thus making him the most eventful of the apostles hence.
The resident pastor said that Thanksgiving has procreation powers as it causes God to multiply and increase any aspect that is suffering insufficiency. This, according to him, happened when Jesus caused five loaves of bread and two fish to be multiplied to feed over five thousand people through Thanksgiving.
He also stated that in situations of hopelessness when one doesn't know what to do, it is only Jesus Christ that can know the way forward as exampled in John 6 verses 1 when He ordered his followers to sit down and be fed even when there was no hope of getting food anywhere.
The cleric emphasized that the Thanksgiving option should be considered by Christians when the prayer and supplication options seem not to have provided the needed answer.
Rev. Ula maintained that Thanksgiving is summary of prayer and supplication that can be used for all situations: that Thanksgiving is done in anticipation of what one wishes to achieve, like material possession, promotion, marriage/good marriage, good health, university education, purchase of car, building of house amongst others.
The cleric stressed his sermon in 1 Thesso 5:16, 1:2; John 6: 38 and Eph 1:15 in which he harped on the need for Christians to always give thanks to God for it is the will of God.
The power-packed service was characterized by a heavenly ministration by the Voice of Faith Choir amongst other creeds.
